Thomas M. Fallo, Special Trustee
In October 2022, California Community Colleges Interim Chancellor Dr. Daisy Gonzales
appointed Dr. Thomas M. Fallo as the Special Trustee for Compton Community College
District (CCCD) with stay and rescind authority. The CCCD Board of Trustees approved
Fallo's employment contract at its Board meeting on November 21, 2022.
Fallo is a graduate of El Camino College and a longtime community college advocate.
He devoted his entire career to working with the California Community Colleges system,
including 25 years at his alma mater, where he served as the fifth superintendent/president
of the El Camino Community College District from 1995 until his retirement in 2016.
In 2006, he led a historic partnership between the El Camino Community College District
and the Compton Community College District after the former Compton College's accreditation
was revoked. Throughout this unprecedented partnership, he and his team focused on
the operations of the education center, working with an interim provost, and subsequent
administrator, leading the way to Compton College's accreditation as an independent
institution in 2019. He completed two-post retirement acting chancellor assignments,
including positions with the South Orange County Community College District from November
20, 2017, to March 15, 2018, and Chabot-Las Positas Community College District from
October 17, 2018, to January 31, 2019.
