All books and materials needed for Fall 2024 are available online at www.comptonbookstore.com. In addition to course materials, you may also purchase Compton College clothing, gifts, school supplies, electronics, and much more.
There are two methods available to return your rented book.
To return books, log into your rental account at comptonbookstore.com, select My Account and then Rentals. This will show a list of books you are renting; select the box next to the books you would like to return. Follow the on-screen prompts to print your Packing List*. This paper is necessary for checking your books back in so that you receive credit for returning your books.
Simply box up your books and ship back to us using your preferred carrier: FedEx, UPS, or USPS. Shipping rates will likely differ by carrier. If you prefer not to pay shipping, please use the in-person return method; see instructions below.
When your books are received and successfully checked in, you will receive email confirmation.
*Please include the Packing List in your return package to ensure a successful book check-in.
Rental books can be returned to the bookstore directly during normal hours of operation. Please be advised all books returned after 15 days past the check-in date, will accrue late fees.
Orders for purchase and rental can be placed online at bkstr.com/comptonstore; students can also receive digital e-book links sent directly to their email. Simply enter the class information to find required texts.
The Bookstore conducts "Textbook Buyback" throughout the semester, but the best time for buybacks is the final weeks of each semester/term. Students can receive up to 50% of the purchase price if the textbook has been requested for a future semester; the book is not sold as new-only (fill-in or perforated pages) and the Bookstore is in need of additional copies.
Online Textbook Buyback is available with our partner ValoreBooks. To get started, find the ISBN on the back of the book above the barcode or inside the title page. Enter your information and send in your book(s) within 14 days of receiving your sellback quote. You can score free shipping and receive payment via check or PayPal.
Merchandise must be in new condition, in a sealed package, clean and free of all markings and bearing all original tags. A 10% restocking fee may be assessed on all refunds. Textbooks can be returned for a full refund within the first week of the spring and fall semesters. Textbooks purchased for summer and winter terms have three days from the start of classes to return for a full refund. Textbooks must be in the same condition as purchased and must be accompanied by a register receipt for a full refund.
