Directed Learning Activities (DLAs)

Directed Learning Activities (DLAs) are self-paced activities for students to review and practice common Math concepts and topics. DLAs help support classroom instruction and tutoring, as they function as supplemental tools for basic arithmetic review, as well as math 73 and 80 classes. The DLA begins with a 10-15 minute video on a particular topic. After viewing the video, the student will immediately complete a worksheet related to the topic, so they can check for understanding and mastery. Once the worksheet is completed, the student receives a secondary review with a live tutor to work on DLA concepts that are still challenging. DLAs take approximately one hour to complete and are available in the Library-Student Success Center.

DLA Completion Steps:

Visit the SSC Computer Lab to access the DLA link from the Student Success Center webpage
Select the DLA topic/subtopic and watch the entire video
Go to the SSC front desk to receive the corresponding DLA worksheet
Complete the worksheet on your own
Go to the Math & Science Tutoring Center and ask a tutor to review your worksheet
Complete the DLA Evaluation Form and submit the form to the SSC front desk staff
